"fantastic time in Sorrento"

There were 6 of us that stayed in Villa Salvocarmelina for 1 week beginning on the 30th July 2016. Due to an early flight we arranged to meet the villa manager (Carmine) before the allocated check in time so that we could drop of our cases if the rooms were not ready. However the two bedroom apartment was ready for us and the down stairs one bedroom apartment was ready soon after. The upstairs (2 bed) apartment is very spacious with two terraces were you can sit outside and enjoy an alfresco meal, the smaller terrace next to the kitchen was used mostly for breakfast and dinner with views of the sun going down. The downstairs (1 bed) apartment had two bathrooms and a large outside eating area. The living area remained nice and cool during the day which was good but all the bedrooms had air conditioning which was definitely needed. The garden and pool area were fantastic, we had the pool to ourselves for most of the time except for a few hours on a couple of occasions. This was one of the highlights of our stay as a cooling dip was most appreciated after a morning exploring Sorrento. The villa is in a terrific location being only 5 minutes walk from the Corso Italia. There was a small negative as the bathroom and kitchen in the 1 bed apartment are looking a little tired but this did not stop us all from having a fantastic time.

Thank you very much Derek for your review. We appreciate the time you have taken to leave a review. We are pleased that you loved the location of the property and had great time at our property. We will do our best to improve the facilities and the service at the property in order to deliver better experiences to all our future guests. We hope you visit Sorrento and Amalfi Coast again soon.

"Great location"

There were six of us so we hired both apartments within the villa. The main apartment is spacious and airy. The two bedrooms are large and comfortable. The sun deck is lovely in the morning and the outside seating area just off from the kitchen is great for evening meals as you watch the sun set. We had a couple of hiccups but these were swiftly rectified. Through the owner/manager, we booked two trips - a private boat to Capri and a drive round the Amalfi coast. Both were fabulous. We took the train to Pompeii.- be prepared to spend a day looking round. Go early and wear good walking shoes..! You can buy a ticket that covers Pompeii and 4 other sites (one being is Herculaneum). This ticket is valid for 3 days. You don't need to buy this ticket if you just want to see Pompeii. You can fit Herculaneum and Vesuvius into one day, but recommend doing Vesuvius through the tourist travel place located upstairs at Pompeii station. The cost €22 each but worth it. After the dust, it was good to sit round the pool and chill. .

"A wonderful experience"

After traveling for over 24 hours, we were warmly greeted by the villa's owner and the property manager. The villa is fabulous and a very comfortable and beautiful setting. We could walk everywhere in Sorrento and were close to a meat market, fish store, vegetable stands and coffee shops. Even though we were on vacation, we cooked one night and the kitchen was great with a table that fit our family of six. The property manager was extremely helpful, arranging special experiences for us and providing a driver when necessary. If we have the opportunity to visit Sorrento again, we will stay here. A wonderful experience. Thank you Alfonso. We had a wonderful time at the villa. It was comfortable and very beautiful and convenient. We will try to visit again!!

"For two weeks at Villa Salvocarmelina was our home"

The House is gorgeous and superbly maintained and everyone is extremely nice and friendly. Everything is so calm and quiet. We came with 3 kids and they enjoyed every minute in the apartment and around the pool and large garden. There is so much to see and do nearby, we skipped many of the more "routine" places and focused on the charming area near Sorrento, Positano and Ravello. Don't miss the boat trip to Capri which Carmine the local manager suggested. it was one of our best vacations and we can't wait to be there again.

"Nice place to stay in Sorrento centre"

Our party of 6 recently stayed at Villa Salvocarmelina, lovely apartments - good accommodation Carmine was there to welcome us and provided us with really good info on places to visit, sorted a guide in Sorrento and suggested places to visit ( which was excellent.) Carmine cooked for us on 3 occasions - each time a 4 course meal with wine. Beautifully cooked. In all a very rewarding experience, which I would recommend to anyone.
