Description

Villa Celentano is a splendid two-story villa located on a hillside, facing the sea and can sleep up to 14 people. From Villa Celentano, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea in the distance, of Vico Equense, the Sorrento Coast and of the surrounding hills.

Villa Celentano is 250 metres squared. It features one spacious, private, long terrace/balcony with a view of the sea, private above ground swimming pool, air conditioning and winter heating. It is perfect for a large family retreat, celebration or friendly gathering. Being 11km from Sorrento, Villa Celentano is great for sight-seeing, but it is off the beaten track thereforeavoiding the tourist chaos.

The villa is situated approximately 30 metres from the nearest shops, including an infamous butcher with delicious meat. The bus stop (Circumvesuviana, the local bus) is just opposite the villa and will take you to the local beach (Vico Equense) in approximately 20 minutes and the train station. From the train station, you can take the train to Sorrento or Pompeii in approximately 20 minutes. There is a restaurant and pizzeria just below the villa (which also offers a pizza delivery service) and many other pizzerias and restaurants within a 10 minute drive from the property.

Villa Celentano is situated in a village called Ticciano, which is nestled in the hills of Sorrento Peninsula, near the town of Vico Equense. Villa Celentano offers all guests the opportunity to make excursions, nature walks, boat trips, guided tours and is only a 20 minute trip to the beach. The villa can also provide a guided tour of the surrounding mountains, Mount Faito, (Path of the Gods) and arrange a BBQ. Spend relaxing moments in the middle of nature and also live the 'real life' like people from the Sorrento peninsula, outside the usual tourist haunts ... For lovers of gourmet, there are local restaurants and wine bars nearby, which offer typical regional and national produce. Ticciano is connected by a road which leads to Sorrento and Vico Equense. It is also an ideal starting point for excursions to the famous Positano and the Amalfi Coast, Capri and the fascinating ruins of Pompeii.

The villa has 6 air conditioned/heated double bedrooms, five of which are en-suite (2 bedrooms have a passage across the larger bedroom). There is also a large open plan, fully equipped kitchen and dining room with two double sofa beds and access to the terrace/balcony. Next to the kitchen, there is a utility and a bathroom. Up to 14 people can be seated, therefore it is perfect for a large family gathering or special occasion. Four of the bedrooms (all ensuite) are on the ground floor and two are on the first floor with a shared bathroom. Additional foldable beds can be added to any of these larger bedrooms. One of the bedrooms on the first floor has a sea view and the other has a mountain view. Of the four bedrooms on the ground floor, two have an independent access via the courtyard but no sea view. These two bedrooms can access the terrace via the lounge/dining room. The other two bedrooms are only accessible from the outside via the terrace. All bedrooms have air conditioning/heating and are well equipped. They have a LCD flat screen TV, mini fridge, desk and chair. All the bathrooms have a shower, WC, wash basin, bidet and heated towel rail. Both from the balconies and from the court yard, you have direct access to the solarium and pool area. There are 2 rooms have passage across the larger bedroom. The BBQ is situated by the pool.

The owners live next door but have a separate entrance and you can enjoy the use of a wood burning oven, on the roof top of their property, free of charge but on request. The swimming pool is 5 metres long, 3 metres wide and 1.40 metres deep. The swimming pool area is equipped with tables, chairs, deck chairs, sun loungers and an outdoor shower. From the swimming pool, you will enjoy the sea in the distance and views of the surrounding hills and mountains. The pool is open from the beginning of April until the end of October.

To make most of your stay at Villa Celentano, you will need a car. There are up to 4 gated car park spaces at the property for small/medium (not large) sized cars just outside the front door. The last 20 metres from the main road up to the villa is a tight and windy road. If you have a large car, there is a free public car park 50 metres from the villa.

Directions

By Car

1. As you leave Rome airport, take the motorway (in italian "autostrada") A1 South in the direction of Napoli (Naples).

2. You will need pass a toll gate where you have to take a ticket. You do not need to pay at this point, but take care of this ticket because it will be requested when you exit the motorway.

3. Continue to go south, staying on A1 motorway. After about 247 km, you should see a sign indicating the A3 motorway. Take the A3 motorway following the direction of Salerno-Reggio Calabria. Go straight as if you are going to Salerno. You should see a sign which indicates the Penisola Sorrentina (it is Sorrento). You will then reach another pay toll gate on the A3 motorway. You will need to pay € 2 before continuing your journey.

4. There are several exits: Ercolano, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata, Pompeii. After Pompeii, you will arrive at a junction (on the right) for Castellammare di Stabia. There is another pay toll gate but you do not have to pay here.

5. Follow the signs for Sorrento. You have to pass through two big tunnels. Continue to follow the directions for Sorrento. At a certain point, there is also a sign for Vico Equense.

6. You will arrive at a fork in the road. There is a tunnel on your left (Sorrento). Go through this tunnel. Follow the signs for Sorrento. At the exit, you will be in a village called Seiano. You will see a railway bridge on your right. You have to pass under this bridge and go straight on. From this bridge, you have to drive for about 600 metres. As a point of reference, you will see the Moon Valley Hotel on your left. Soon after that Hotel, just in a bend, there is a turning on your left. Turn left, being careful to avoid the cars that are coming from the opposite direction. There is a mirror that helps you to turn left. From this point, there are 7 kms to Villa Celentano. Ignore any other detour and follow the main road up to Ticciano.

By Train

Arrive at the Napoli Centrale Station of the Ferrovie dello Stato "Piazza Garibaldi" and take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, which links Naples to the Penisola Sorrentina every 30 minutes. You can reach the Circumvesuviana trains at the Napoli Centrale Station via the internal subway. Tickets cost about € 3. From Naples to Vico Equense, the journey lasts about 1 hour. From here, you can arrive at Villa Celentano by the "Circolare Destra" Circumvesuviana bus, which links Vico Equense to Ticciano.

By Plane

The airport of Napoli Capodichino is about 50km from from Villa Celentano. The most comfortable and cheapest solution to reach the Penisola Sorrentina from the airport is the bus service by the Curreri company, which links the airport with Vico Equense (Piazza Kennedy) and Sorrento by six daily buses. Take the bus at the "Arrivals" exit of the airport. The journey to Vico Equense lasts about 1 hour. From here, take the "Circolare Destra" Circumvesuviana bus to Ticciano.

"It was the perfect accommodation for our group of 14"

The rooms were nicely furnished and clean, the living room spacious and the kitchen equipped with the basics. We were surprised that also dish washer and a washing machine were available. We arrived late (2300) because we had problems with the car rental, but the property manager was very uncomplicated and welcoming. Also the check-out was quickly done. We recommend the Villa warmly, to people with a car and-and enough time to reach the main tourist attractions. We had a great time! Thank you!

EXCELLENT STAY AND GREAT WELCOMING

Hello, we had a great stay in this beautiful villa in Ticciano. The property owmers were very welcome who prepared an appetizer. The house is very well maintained, the pool also with almost daily cleaning. The manager was a great support, especially for the visit of Capri, and other small details and we needed a translator ...Everything was perfect. And this small village of Ticciano is really nice to live. Thanks again, Sébastien & Family.

"This property was exactly as listed"

I traveled with a group of 8 friends and family. For some of us it was the first time ever in Italy; for others it was our second time visiting, but for all of us it was the first time in Southern Italy. Upon our arrival in Vico Equense we were met with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Vesuvius on the other side of the sea. From that moment I knew we would all have the greatest vacation one could hope for. This property was exactly as listed. The property is about an hour drive from Naples Airport. It is located in the mountains in the the province of Ticciano in the town of Vico Equense. The layout of the house was ideal. It overlooked the town. The pool and pool deck were clean and well kept. It had a beautiful view overlooking the town and the mountains. The property itself was nicely maintained and had all the amenities listed. Upon arrival, Carmine (property manager) and the owners of the house greeted us warmly and kindly. They helped us carry our luggagge up to the house. When we entered the property we were welcomed with delicious bread, local wines, cheese, and meat. Carmine was a gem. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and he was extremely helpful with his insight of the town and where we should visit. Thanks to Carmine we were able to get around town, eat at a great restaurant in the local town where the villa is located (Torre Ferano, which was exquisite by the way), visit Mount Vesuvius and the ancient city of Pompeii, visit the charming town of Vico Equense, rent a private boat and sail to the most beautiful of islands Capri. Riding to Capri along the Mediterranean sea, viewing the Grottos, swimming in the sea, and eating at the local restaurants in Capri has got to be one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had as a group. In addition to sightseeing Carmine helped us to contract some chefs who prepared local Italian food to celebrate my younger brother's birthday. I do not not use hyperbolic language when I say it was THE BEST Italian food that we have ever tasted in our lives. We had seven different dishes and each one was better than the last. We were also had three different wines, and even a delectable Tiramisu as dessert. Finally, we also had a chance to visit Rome, Sorrento, Positano located in the Amalfi Coast, and do a wine tour and eat delicious Italian food at a restaurant called Cantina Vesuvio in Pompeii. I would definitely recommend this property to all of my friends and family!

"Lovely villa outside of the busy tourist areas"

Very well maintained property in the mountains above Vico Equense. It takes approximately 30 minutes to Vico Equense and Sorrento but the house is lovely in the mountains with beautiful views. In the village there are a few small shops and a Pizzzeria . The owner of the house is very friendly and does everything to make its guests feel!

"Wonderfull stay in Villa Celentano"

We had a wonderfull stay in Villa Celentano. A beautifull house with more than enough space for our family (9 persons). We could easily make trips to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. An impressive region of Italy.

"FANTASTICO!!!"

We had a great holiday at Villa Celentano, in the cute little village of Ticciano. The owners are very friendly such as Carmine who was our contactperson. The villa is clean, cozy and perfect for a large group of friends and family. Beds are a bit hard but ok. The roads and the traffic is typical of south italy, you have to get use to it. Our contactperson arranged a wonderful boattrip to Capri for the whole group and it was unforgettable. In one word: FANTASTICO!!!

"The Villa was very clean and was just like it was described."

We arrived very late due to flight delays but we were met at the church and the young lady gave us a bottle of milk for the baby as we had arrived too late to go shopping. The Villa was very clean and was just like it was described on the internet. The bedrooms are spacious and most have bathrooms ensuite. There is alternative parking nearby if you have a big vehicle. The Pizza restaurant downstairs is closed but there is a wonderful Pizza restaurant in a nearby village. It is recommended on TripAdvisor, it is down a very narrow street but it is worth finding. It is run by a mother and her two sons. You could ask Carmine for directions. We really enjoyed our cooking lesson. We took notes but what would be very helpful is to have the ingredients and method written down for each recipe as a reminder as there is so much to remember.

"We had all we needed"

The villa was great for what we needed. The roads getting there are not for the feint hearted but it's well worth the drive.

"Our host couldn't have been nicer or more helpful"

The Villa was lovely. All the space we needed and then some. The pool is perfect for young children and safe enough being above ground to stop little ones from falling in. The beautiful setting of the Villa means that everything is at the end of a "heart in your mouth" drive along the single track road where caution and courtesy are not much used by locals. Our host couldn't have been nicer or more helpful despite our language barrier. She went out of her way to help us. Our host very kindly phoned for pizza for us along with some necessities and all was delivered to our door. I don't know what we would have done without her. I do not want to detract from the amazing location and accommodation , we all had an a fantastic time. The villa is close to all the points and places of interest and if the road was less stressful to navigate it would be ideal. More information would also make life easier, siesta times, shop closures ie, half day Thursday. Amenity locations etc afforded to you before arrival would allow you to plan ahead. Carmine was helpful and true to his word and arranged the best day of our holiday for us, cheaper than all local providers. An asset to Naples Villas. I would definitely stay here again, and I would definitely book through Naples Villas again.
