Villa La Ventana is situated in a quiet place and offers all the relaxation one can wish for on their holidays. 800 metres from the small village of "Colli di Fontanelle", it's a place of total relaxation, a few chilometres from Sorrento and Positano, not far (8km) from wonderful beaches, easily reachable by public transportation.
The surrounding area boasts many panoramic paths and is not far from the Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella. The seabeds, a much loved location of divers, hide and keep the memory of the ancient marine activity. Historical research places this sea as the venue of a famous wreck of a Roman fleet, with the great Julius Caesar aboard.
The frequent and constant carsic erosions have produced cavities, that, in time, due to telluric movements and the rise of the seas, have been overarched by the marine level, giving birth to wonderful undersea grottos.
SORRENTO: Sorrento offers wonderful views of the entire bay of Naples and the Island of Capri. There are beautiful beaches, bars surrounding Piazza Tasso, great shops and a fragrant citrus purfume from near-by trees.Sorrento has narrow streets and quiet squares, like Piazza Tasso which is brimming with excellent restaurants, bars and cafés. There are many trendy shops from one-off boutiques to top names including Max Mara, Gucci and Armani. From Sorrento you can take coaches or hovercrafts to Amalfi, Positano, Ischia and Capri.
With its 42 kilometre stretch of gently sloping coastline and white pebbled-beaches, the Amalfi Coast is an 'earthly paradise' with breathtaking beauty.
AMALFI COAST: One of Italy's most spectacular coastlines begins after Sorrento, runs through Positano and continues until it reaches Amalfi. Looking along the tall cliffs and down into the sapphire sea, takes your breath away.
POSITANO: A vibrant village with narrow, colourful buildings which cascade like a waterfall down a vertiginous hill to the sea. Positano's town centre meanders down to the waterfront, where a profusion of cafes, bars and restaurants sell fresh seafood. The beach air is filled with the perfume of orange, almond blossom and jasmine.
AMALFI: Once the most important trading port in the southern Italy, Amalfi is in the ravine of the Mulini Valley, its churches, towers and arcaded houses rising above the small harbour. The town's Duomo dominates a long flight of steps and embraces a picturesque piazza stretching to its seafront. A wonderful contrast between fine beaches in front and tall cliffs behind.
CAPRI: Capri offers panormamic vistas at every turn, picturesque eateries with local seafood and blue grottos hidden under the limestone cliffs. A trip to Capri is ideal for a one-day excursion from Sorrento with the hydrofoil. Capri is, unquestionably, the holiday princess of the Italian islands: idyllic and rugged with its shimmering Blue Grotto and cliffs that descend down into the sea. Capri has trendy jewellery shops and designer boutiques.
POMPEII & VESUVIUS: Pompeii is one of the most important Roman archaeological sites in the world and Vesuvius is the only active volcano in Europe. Pompeii and Herculaneum are cities buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and re-discovered in the 18th century. It is possible to drive to 3,200 feet and then trek to its summit to enjoy the mesmerising views of the entire gulf of Naples.

On the ground floor there's an eating area, with the dining room and the kitchen (four burners, stove and microwave oven, two fridges with freezer, dishwasher and washing machine).
On the top floor, is a big living room, separated by a corridor into two separate areas. At the centre of this space isa little fireplace, refined in a precious way using green marble: around it comfortable sofas, TV, 2 computers and a telephone.
On the other part of the living room, also furnished with sofas, it is possible to go through a Frenchdoor to a terrace with stunning sea views.
Every bedroom has its own bathroom (6 with a shower and 2 with a bathtub), a TV set, internet access, fridgebar, a small security box for personal possessions. The theme of the cat also appears in the furnishngs (thanks to the Sorrentine architecture), in the decoration of the doors, and on the floors: worked with precious marble that, with their brown colour, resemble the fur of a cat. You can enjoy a wonderful holiday and really appreciate the beautiful landscapes, the fascinating scents, the ancient tastes and traditions and the exciting culture which make this part of the coast one of the most precious pearls of the Mediterranean!
It is ideally situated for excursions to the most important centres along the coastline and to the island of Capri.
Villa La Ventana can host up to 14 people, in 7 rooms and 8 bathrooms. There is a stunning dining room and stylish, well furnished kitchen. Two wide living rooms with a cozy atmoshphere with fireplace enable you to relax in style. You can enjoy the wonderful views from the many terraces and balconies. The villa has a large garden and private parking. Its 10 X 4 metre pool is extremely pleasant and is open from May to October.
From the entrance gate, once you've left the car in the adjacent car park, you can access the villa. The garden is on a hill side, on several levels, and offers different points where you can relax, under the shade of trees. The main door, from the garden to the internal part of the villa, represents, in the idea of the architect, a cat's mouth !
The facade and the inner rooms are decorated with elegant marble. In the big entrance room (the mouth of the feline) what's impressive is the play between the lights and furnishings: two pairs of white columns, at the sides of the room, that look like big canines; or a big double fountain, provided with a tub, surrounded by overlooking corridors....read more
