Villa Augustea is located along the costal road, 3 km from Amalfi town centre, one of the most enchanting spots of the Amalfi coast. 400 steps, close to the villa, lead to a public beach with 2 restaurants, as well as umbrellas and sun loungers to rent.
The 2 nearest restaurants are situated at about 300 metres from the villa. All essentials (bars, shops, banks, and post office) are situated in Amalfi town centre.
The bus stop marked SITA to Amalfi (15 mins) and Positano (35 mins) is on the main road. Ferries and hydrofoils depart daily from Amalfi to Capri (1½ h.), Positano (20 min.), Ischia (2½ h) and Salerno (1 h.). The services operate only during the Summer season.
With its 42 kilometre stretch of gently sloping coastline and white pebbled-beaches, the Amalfi Coast is an 'earthly paradise' with breathtaking beauty.
AMALFI COAST: One of Italy's most spectacular coastlines begins after Sorrento, runs through Positano and continues until it reaches Amalfi. Looking along the tall cliffs and down into the sapphire sea, takes your breath away.
POSITANO: A vibrant village with narrow, colourful buildings which cascade like a waterfall down a vertiginous hill to the sea. Positano's town centre meanders down to the waterfront, where a profusion of cafes, bars and restaurants sell fresh seafood. The beach air is filled with the perfume of orange, almond blossom and jasmine.
AMALFI: Once the most important trading port in the southern Italy, Amalfi is in the ravine of the Mulini Valley, its churches, towers and arcaded houses rising above the small harbour. The town's Duomo dominates a long flight of steps and embraces a picturesque piazza stretching to its seafront. A wonderful contrast between fine beaches in front and tall cliffs behind.
SORRENTO: Sorrento offers wonderful views of the entire bay of Naples and the Island of Capri. There are beautiful beaches, bars surrounding Piazza Tasso, great shops and a fragrant citrus purfume from near-by trees.Sorrento has narrow streets and quiet squares, like Piazza Tasso which is brimming with excellent restaurants, bars and cafés. There are many trendy shops from one-off boutiques to top names including Max Mara, Gucci and Armani. From Sorrento you can take coaches or hovercrafts to Amalfi, Positano, Ischia and Capri.
CAPRI: Capri offers panormamic vistas at every turn, picturesque eateries with local seafood and blue grottos hidden under the limestone cliffs. A trip to Capri is ideal for a one-day excursion from Sorrento with the hydrofoil. Capri is, unquestionably, the holiday princess of the Italian islands: idyllic and rugged with its shimmering Blue Grotto and cliffs that descend down into the sea. Capri has trendy jewellery shops and designer boutiques.
POMPEII & VESUVIUS: Pompeii is one of the most important Roman archaeological sites in the world and Vesuvius is the only active volcano in Europe. Pompeii and Herculaneum are cities buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and re-discovered in the 18th century. It is possible to drive to 3,200 feet and then trek to its summit to enjoy the mesmerising views of the entire gulf of Naples.

Villa Augustea (250 metres squared indoors, 550 metres squared outdoors) comprises of a main house and a separate annex with 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) each with en-suite bathroom with wall mounted shower.
The entrance is via the main road into the car park, which has space for 2/3 cars. From the car park, the main entrance leads to a small lounge area with a door to a spacious bedroom. It is furnished with a double bed and a single sofa bed. It has an ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, TV, in built wooden robe, antique chest of drawers and sliding iron shutters, which open to the lovely balcony with blue printed tiles, sun loungers and sea view.
From the lounge area, a stone staircase (20 steps) take you down to the spacious dining/sitting room with seating for 12 and sliding iron shutters, which open to the terrace with in built seating, blue and yellow printed tiles, wicker chairs and sea views. On the left of the sitting room, a small corridor leads to 2 double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom with shower. The larger bedroom has windows with sea view, the other has French doors opening to a side terrace. On the right of the sitting room is a fourth spacious bedroom with double bed, en-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and windows with sea views.
The dining room has a table seating for up to 14 people. It has a door opening to the kitchen and another door opening directly onto the terrace, which is equipped with a round ceramic table seating 14 people and a barbecue. The fully equipped kitchen has 8 gas rings, an American refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and French window opening directly onto the terrace.
The annex has 2 bedrooms; one double with wrought iron bed head, the other with twin beds, both with TV, white and blue printed tiled floors, windows to the back of house and blue French doors opening to the terrace. Each bedroom has en-suite bathroom with shower and doors to the terrace. From this terrace, 19 steps lead up to the parking area and 15 steps lead down to the second level, (reachable also from the sitting room through an internal staircase of 12 steps) covered by a beautiful bougainvillea pergola, with outdoor furniture, dining table, 12 seats, garden seats, in built seatings and outside lightings. 3 steps lead down to a further terrace with garden seats and rocking chairs surrounded by palms, green olive groves, pine trees and splendid views over the sea. A further 40 steps down, you can reach the third and lower level, which has comfortable and furnished outdoor spaces, swimming pool (8x4), 2 showers, covered dining area for al fresco meals with table and chairs for 12 and beautiful views over the sea below.
Access is via a remote-controlled gate situated at road level, opening onto the parking area. A car is advised.
Facilities: Essentials toiletries kit, Swimming pool (4 m x 8 m x 1,50/2,20 ) with 2 showers, washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, central heating, air conditioning throughout, ADSL, pay telephone, fax machine, CD player, American refrigerator with ice maker, oven, barbecue, parking area for 3 medium sized cars with remote-controlled gate. Public steps (approx. 400) close to the villa, which lead to a public beach with 2 restaurants, as well as umbrellas and chairs available to rent.

More paved terraces and gardens, with pink and red geraniums, are situated around the property; the swimming pool, set on the terrace at the third and lower level, is surrounded by a spacious terrace with terracotta floor, 12 sun loungers, 2 showers, shaded area with dining table and chairs for 12 .
The sitting room, with terracotta floors and attractive blue zodiacal puzzle tiles, has been furnished in elegant coastal style with a beautiful, precious crystal table with a marble base and ample and comfortable sofas and chairs. French windows open onto the terrace with in built seating, wicker chairs and table and sea views.

By Car: From the North: Take the A3 Motorway (Naples-Salerno-Reggio Calabria). Then there are two choices of route:
•First option (more panoramic): exit at Vietri sul Mare and follow the SS 163 "Amalfitana";
•Second option (in case of traffic): exit at Castellammare di Stabia, then continue along the SS 366 and then along the SS 163 "Amalfitana".
From the North: Take the A30 Motorway (Roma-Salerno) and take the "Salerno", then continue through the SS 163 "Amalfitana".
From the South: Take A3 Motorway towards Salerno. Take the "Salerno" exit, then continue through the SS 163 "Amalfitana".
By Air: The nearest International Airport is Naples Capodichino. We recommend our guests reach the villa either by taxi or private transfer.
By Sea: Daily maritime transport services are provided by the following companies from April to October:
•Metrò del Mare (www.metrodelmare.net);
•Tra.Vel.Mar (www.travelmar.it);
•Linee marittime partenopee (www.consorziolmp.it).
Private boats are allowed to moor at Amalfi pier (www.portodiamalfi.com).
